Storyteller

Find the wizards deserted chambers. It was rumored to be inside a tower shrouded within a mist. Clues about where the master may have been going can surely be found there. To begin this quest you must first [start mission 41].

~~ " As with any normal wizard spell, all the necessary components are ~
~ needed. My master often leaves the safety of his tower in search of these ~
~ components for more powerful and affective magic. Several weeks have passed ~
~ and he has yet to return. I know of nothing of this world that is able to ~
~~ detain and keep him from his work. A strange feeling developed in me, as ~
~ his apprentice, I fear his life is oddly in danger. I call out to those who ~
~ dare call themselves sneaky, find me and I will tell you more of him. The ~
~ power he possesses is unmatched. I will tell you this, to come alone is the ~
~ only way. IF something or someone is able to capture my master it would have ~
~~~~ taken a great party skillfully put together to capture him or divine ~~~
~ intervention. And we lack both. An individual highly trained in stealth is ~
~ our only chance for rescuing my master, step wisely for the fool will surely ~

This quest is quite long, and parts of it can only be done solo by a sneaker (bard, thiefclass, slicers).

 I recommend reading the entire instructions before proceeding.

The quest must be started from taleswapper

  • Go to taleswapper and "start mission 41"
  • Go to Wardens Warden's Isle, and go into the magetower in the far northwest
  • Go into Balnazzi's Chamber almost at the top
  • look desk, open drawer, you will find a note and get a new mission

    Warning

    Solo mode starts here! after proceeding below you will be alone, and not able to cast spells

    You must have a Holy Pendant to be able to complete the quest! (Quest 67 - Shiny New Hat)

    • Buff up the sneaker, I recommend rejuvenation, fire resistance at least

    • Bring a torch or lantern, and a mithril belt for detect magic if you want to determine resses

    Major baddie north, do not attempt to kill him, if you fail your sneak, then go south and wait for reset. the Drolem will kill you

    • You will be in a cell area with 3 main "arms" with cells, in the cells you will meet monsters that turn into clones of you. Go into the various cells, and kill clones until the mission updates.

    You open the desk drawer and discover a note:

     You have obviously come in search of the masters
     knowledge.  I have information that can aid you
     in your search.  However, the tower mages tolerance
     has thinned since my masters time here and I have
     been forced to take up residence in a less widely
     used tower. Find me and speak the name of the master.

    Seek out the masters apprentice and speak the name of the master.


    Apprentice to Balnazzi sighs.
    Apprentice to Balnazzi says: My master Balnazzi has not been seen for weeks.
    The apprentice draws you aside and tells you:

    Perhaps your unique mastery of the arts of stealth could be employed to free my master.  My sources
    tell me he has been imprisoned deep underneath the Warden's Keep.  If you can find a way to free 
    him, I am sure he will reward you TREMENDOUSLY!

    The apprentice continues: I will place an enchantment on you so you may enter into the deep dungeons
    and bypass the wards placed on it by followers of Helm.  My enchantment is not very powerful and 
    only ONE person will be able to be within its walls at a time and only for a short duration.  Make 
    haste in finding my master and beware what lurks down there.

    The apprentice gestures and you feel a hazing aura surround you.


    Bishop Reynolds says: Excellent work in finding the scale Galinna.  The Cathedral entrance is just around the corner.
