Story:

Story 187 Family Keepsake Told By Titan
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ A young lad limped into the Tavern and had himself a seat ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ at the bar. I remember this clearly because he ordered ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ two of pints of beer which caught my attention. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I asks him why he would need two at the same time. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ He replies: 'The second is for my lost father.' ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I blink a few times then go back to my business. A few ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ beers later the young lad finally opens up and tells me ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ the story of us father... ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ "It all started years ago when I was just a young boy. My ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ father was one of the greatest knights of his time. He ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ was renowned for his ability to best the vilest of the ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ great wyrms. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ It was a stormy winter night. My father had just returned ~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ home from one of his crusades and we, along with my mother ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ were all sitting at the table listening to my father relay ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~ his story. We were halfway through our meal when there was ~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~~~~~~~~~~~~ a loud knocking at the door. My father got up to get the door ~~~~~~~~~~~~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ and I turned around to see who it was. A dark figure ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ stood in the doorway. He was cloaked in priestly garb, ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ leaning on a cane bearing the symbol of the darker arts. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The man and my father exchange some words. Moments later ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ my father turns to us and says he owes this man a return ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ favor. My father gathers his trusty sword and equipment ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ and leaves out the door with this mysterious man. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ That was the last time I saw my father. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ As I grew older I went in search of my father and any ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ information I could find about this man he left with. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I could never find any traces of my father. I did ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ discover the man he left with was a dark priest on ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ an unending search of controlling all aspects of ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ things undead. His power kept growing and he was ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ known to be able to raise skeletons and zombies from ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ the bones of the fallen and command them with but ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ a slight motion. His last known conquest for power ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ was a mission to control the very Lord of these undead ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ and command this Lord to do his bidding. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I have sustained many injuries in my search for my ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ father and I fear I will give up this fools quest. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I had always hoped if I could not find my father I ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ could at least find his sword and place it above ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ my mantle as a keepsake." ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The boy then turned and began to limp out of the ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ tavern, same way he entered. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
