You now stand at the edge of the open desert. From here you can see far to the east, across the Sword Sea. To your north "The Great Volcano" reaches far up into the sky, looming dark and ominous almost as if it were forbidden ground. Looking around here, you realize that you are also at the top of a cliff face, and far below you the surf of the Sword Sea crashes in relentlessly against the rock strewn beach. All around you are scattered the building stones of a tower. What once must have towered over the coastal cliff, defending the coast, is now only a shattered ruin. Here the outline of its foundation can still be traced in the swirling sand. There is a large stone slab near the edge of the foundation. What appears to have been a wall that ran along the cliff's edge, now is little more than a ridge in the sand. Between the tower's fallen stones and the crashing waters below stands the remains of an obelisk. Crumbled bits of rock have gathered around its weathered base, and it seems to stand as reminder of times long ago forgotten. And the only thing that resembles a road, quickly tapers off to little more than a low spot in the sand.

> l foundation
What once must have been a tall tower is now little more than a pile of stones with only a foundation remaining to show that there was ever anything here at all. The fondation is composed of three large concentric circles, with the outer reaching almost to the cliff edge. As you survey the foundation you notice two large stone slabs, a large square one in the last circular ring near the cliff and a smaller circular one outside the rings on the desert side of the ruins.
> l obelisk
The obelisk stands as a testament to all of the Gods of these vast realms. The occupants of the tower must have used this once mighty symbol to pray for protection and guidance.
> tie rope to ring
You will need to specify which ring.
> l stone
The square slab is simple stone but covered with runes that seem to pulse with power. There is an inscription on the stone. It reads...
Salmarik, Through the sons will the father be found.
> l round rock
The round slab is simple stone shelf and could be reached if you had the proper tools and were a few feet closer.
> l circular slab
You carefully examine the round stone slab taking care to check for any writing. You find a large metal ring, set into the stone, and a fine almost invisible crevice that traces the full circumference of this slab. You get the idea that there might be something beneath it... but what?
> tie rope to large metal ring
What are you thinking? You don't know the first thing about good knots and such. The most likely thing you will do is get your fool neck broken. A fall from this height would assuredly be fatal.
