THE GREAT CLOCKTOWER OF STORMFRONT

The construction of the Clocktower began some 8 years following
the founding of Stormfront. Lauriel Forshan, a magnificient
engineer, residing in Stormfront since not long after its
founding, was asked to design the grand structure. Lauriel was
said to have had a hand in some of the most remarkable buildings
in these Realms, including several on the mainland. Though quite
old by this time, her brilliance had not dimmed.

Construction of the tower took nearly 20 years, and Lauriel never
saw it completed. However, the city of Stormfront was committed
to the project and it was finished in the fall of the 28th year
after the founding.

It keeps remarkably good time. The machinery is an elven adaptation
of gnomish plans. Most of the stonework was done by local Stormfront
humans and dwarves. It rises majestically some 70 feet above the
city, giving those who travel to the center of the Stormfront Market

and climb the many steps a breathtaking view of the city, the coast,
and the jungles. The great height of the tower also allows it to be
seen far out to sea.
